Who are we?
The word “factory-made” doesn’t really fit our products: we make and pack everything ourselves in our small family workshop, where a specialised production line supports our work.
Horse Baits is a Hungarian boilie family and bait manufactory, where every product is made to our own ideas and recipes. We create our finished products in premium quality using different dosing ratios, while keeping them unique. Important: we do not sell products made by another company under our name (contract manufacturing)!
Quality ingredients – we know every one of them
Quality comes first, so we always use fresh ingredients that go into our products with food-grade certification.
- Ingredients imported from various countries go through thorough checks: we verify their usability, reliability and shelf life.
- We always source pure raw materials from certified manufacturers and suppliers – this is how we guarantee continuous, consistent, excellent quality.
- That is how we stay credible with anglers: we know every ingredient that goes into our products.
- Ingredients of plant and animal origin, natural extracts, powder and liquid extracts, natural spices, amino acids and appetite stimulants all help achieve the desired effect.
- We use many special ingredients from aquaculture, chosen with great care for their uniqueness – tailored to the nutritional needs of fish.
How are our boilies made?
Ingredients produced with a gentle process, with excellent nutritional value, digestibility and utilisation, ensure the baits work over the long term, demonstrably increase the palatability of the boilies and thus stimulate their uptake.
Thanks to the intensity of the rich ingredients, a high nutritional content is created: you can feel the balance in the finished boilie – flavours, aromas and nutritional value form a special, well-balanced harmony.
Steamed at 85 °C instead of boiled
We steam our boilies at 85 °C. With this method far fewer valuable proteins and ingredients are lost than with boiling, so the products lose none of their attracting power.
- They contain NO artificial colourings at all – tasty, rich in vitamins and minerals, with no bitter aftertaste.
- High nutritional value, with an immediate, then gradual and long-lasting effect – because they are always made fresh.
- Balanced protein and carbohydrate content, optimal fat and fibre content; an easily digestible, usable food source that can lead to continuous feeding.
SOFT or HARD? – Choose for your water!
We make boilies with different flavours and dissolving times, so you can use your favourite boilie in any season of the year.
Soft · water-soluble
Dissolves in approx. 3–6 hours
Softer, more water-soluble texture. Ideal for short sessions of a few hours or even 1–2 days, and also for competition fishing.
Hard · hardened
Dissolves in approx. 15–24 hours
Much harder texture, longer dissolving time. For gravel pits and waters with crayfish and catfish, or if you don’t want to rebait often and want your feed to last longer in the water.
In both cases, the dissolving time depends on the water temperature and the fish stock.
Always fresh – no months-old stock
Production follows demand: in season we make boilies every week in different flavours, so anglers never receive boilies that are months or a year old – always fresh ones.
This is key to success, because a fresh boilie always works better and carp prefer it. Our orders, growing year after year, and anglers’ feedback prove it!
Thanks to our new gentle drying technology, the boilies go into the bags ready to use: once opened, they can be used straight away on the hair rig and with a throwing stick. Further drying is only needed if you want to slow down dissolving – in an airy, cool place, in a net or tray, to get a harder texture.

Development and testing
Alongside maintaining quality, we put great emphasis on development. Creating a new flavour – whether a sinking boilie or a floating pop-up – is a big challenge and takes a lot of time and energy.
Our flavours have been tested continuously by many anglers on various Hungarian lakes, in all kinds of weather, with outstanding results.
After positive feedback, many successful years on the bank and several specimen fish, HORSE BAITS boilies were born from nearly 13 years of bait-making experience.
The result is a refined bait arsenal that has proven its catching power ever since – including among the big-carp angling community.
Storage
All Horse Baits boilies are best stored frozen if you won’t use them for a longer time – this keeps them freshest! During your session, store them in a cool place. Or you can dry them rock-hard in a dry, cool place, turning them several times a day, then store them in a well-sealed bucket or bag, protected from sunlight! Protect them from high temperatures – do NOT leave them behind a car windscreen! Protect them from temperature fluctuations to prevent condensation forming in the bag!
Good to know
There may be slight differences between production batches. This is due to natural, periodic variations in the ingredients used (fishmeals, spices, etc.) – but it does not affect the nutritional content or catching power of the bait.
